Having one of the most vivid marine life on the planet, Jacques-Yves Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez "the world's aquarium". To preserve these treasures, the Sea of Cortez has many National Parks which require permits to anchor and go ashore same as Fishing Licenses for legal fishing. Park rangers and Mexican Nacy will occasionally ask to see such documents for each person on board or the corresponding people.
In case you are stopped and do not hold a park pass, bracelet, or fishing license it is possible to get a fine or have your boat confiscated.
If you will visit any of these Protected areas or plan to do fishing send us a message to provide you with more information.
